Just Like Dad

August 29, 2017

Not considering safety in the workplace can be tragic. Bad enough being injured while undertaking a dangerous task with negligible consideration; but what about the child watching?

What I saw last weekend made me cringe. Too many people are promoting poor work practices at home. Is this exacerbating the potential for young children to think this is acceptable behaviour? - Probably.

We all know how youngsters immitate their role models - usually Mum and Dad. How can we tell them to put shoes on while helping dig the garden when we are wearing jandals?

Like most adults the child would recover after their yet to be developed coordination saw them cutting off a toe, but the trauma would mean their life would never be the same.

Let's look at bringing our Safe Work Practices home and set the best example we can for the next generation.
